Netflix has released a very short but “Easter Egg” rich teaser YouTube video. Based on a children’s books series. The video was uploaded to a Eleanor Poe account, who turns out to be a character from the books – an editor of a fictitious newspaper.
The Verge explains
This trailer was uploaded yesterday morning to a YouTube account registered to “Eleanora Poe,” the editor of a fictitious newspaper called the The Daily Punctilio, who notoriously fires Snicket (the series’ narrator) for writing a bad review of a play penned by one of the series’ many dozen bad guys.
From Wikipedia on the books:
A Series of Unfortunate Events is a series of 13 children’s novels by Lemony Snicket (the pen name of American author Daniel Handler) which follows the turbulent lives of Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire after their parents’ death in a fire. The children are placed in the custody of their relative Count Olaf, who attempts to steal their inheritance.
The series is adapted for the screen by Daniel Handler. Netflix confirmed last November that the series is in the works and has begun teasing it with this video. I’ll be adding this to my list for sure.
